Continually digging where others rarely look, Andrew Morgan and his team at People’s Potential Unlimited deliver another essential slice off little-known boogie in reissue form. A-side jam ‘Workin Mama’ from Bozeman & Roberts is the headline grabber, its elastic electrofunk bassline snapping into place with early 80s boogie swagger and undeniable bite. Dennard then appears on the flip with ‘Grandma,’ which is murkier in origin but no less potent, all crisp drum machines and streetwise charm. There is scant information on either cut, yet that mystery only heightens the thrill.
